As well as being fantastic at fighting pollution, living walls bring so much joy and are an important habitat for wildlife and food source for pollinators. We involve the children in the process and build the subsequent aftercare into the curriculum. The pupils love getting their hands in the soil and learning about the amazing benefits of plants and nature – a wonderful scheme to inspire the next generation! A quote from the head teacher of Fircroft Primary School in Tooting: “I just wanted to let you know how pleased we are with our Green Wall! The children are really excited about it and staff and parents have been highly complimentary, saying how much it lifts the playground environment. I would also like to add that the team were a delight to have here and absolutely brilliant with the kids.”
