We are designing the Eden Project Morecambe Community Garden at the new Eden Project in Northern England. The 1.6-acre garden will form the welcoming arrival to Eden, a community garden and hub for local people. Shaped by Morecambe Bay and made with local groups, it invites the wider community to share skills and grow confidence in green industries. The garden is developed in line with our RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026 garden and turns this bold vision into a lasting coastal landscape.

The experience is immersive: curving paths and dune-like landforms weave through ecological coastal meadows, with salt-tolerant, wildlife-rich planting interlaced with edible and useful species. Shell-based concrete ('Clam-crete') underfoot roots the garden in place. At the centre, a reflective pool and reservoir manage rainwater while drawing down the big bay skies. A community shelter (designed by Michaelis Boyd Associates) offers refuge, while the Chelsea solar pavilion anchors an education hub and public space for learning. Large sweeping lawns and engaging planting create opportunities for play, gathering, picnics and events. Co-designed with local partners, the garden is built to serve its community for generations.
